What does your Acupuncturist do during a typical treatment?
During the initial exam a full health history is taken. You will be asked questions regarding your health, symptoms, and lifestyle. A brief physical exam is conducted, including a meridian pulse and tongue diagnosis. Gathering of this information enables your Acupuncturist to effective assess, diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of Qi that may have contributed to a persons particular health concerns. The Acupuncturist can then create a well-structured treatment plan to address your needs.
Once the imbalances are detected, your Acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways. This safe and painless insertion of the needles can unblock the obstruction and balance the Qi energy where it has suffered an imbalance. Once this is done, your Qi can flow freely enabling it to circulate the body, providing adequate nourishment to cells, organs, glands, tissues and muscles. This process can eliminate pain and restore balance and harmony allowing the body to recieve all the necessary resources to heal itself effectively. Ultimately, this leads to you acheiving optimal health and well-being.
